The 40 walks in this volume take in the beautiful, but often overlooked, Eden Valley, the high heather-clad Pennine fells and the three great rivers of the North East. Along with the Tyne, Wear and Tees as well as the farmland and former industrial heartlands of County Durham. 

Along the way there are high upland waterfalls, lush meadows, blustery mountain summits and coastal cliffs, as well as palaces, castles and country estates.
