It's always good to hear from happy customers....

Dear Mike,
I just wanted to write and say I received my order today and to thank you for a great service. The packs are fantastic, can't wait to get my walking boots on!!! From placing my order to receiving it was quick and efficient but the personal touch with your compliment slip has made my day. It's not often these days where you receive a service and feel appreciated as a customer. Thank you :) Jacqueline

My daughter rang to say that the books I ordered on Monday have arrived!! Thank you for your great service in making sure the guide books were delivered before their holiday in God's Own Country. With grateful thanks Gill

Lakeland Pack 2

For any guide book the selection of routes is vital and Walking-Books.com have got the mix just right with this pack. Walks range from under 5km through to almost 14km and heigh gain progresses from a mere 68m to the 938m climb up Skiddaw for route 25. Picking a target audience is always one of the hardest parts of planning a guide book but that's where we think Walking-books.com have got it spot on with their walking packs. From MyOutdoors

"Blown away by the quality of the packs, mapping and presentation, it's a great experience unwrapping them, very well put together. I don't think book is an accurate description though, they are massively more practical for walking than that. I love the map wallet." From Gareth at Webtogs

Review of Making Tracks in the Yorkshire Dales sent from a customer who used the book on a visit to the Dales with his daughters aged 6 and 3 -
I bought it at Go Outdoors in Stockton. It's fantastic!! We did the Aysgarth Falls walk and our 6-yr-old led the way.
Both Sylvie & her 3yr old sister Imogen walked the entire way round. Sylvie stopped three quarters of the way round and said: 'Daddy, I thought this was going to be boring but it's been really good fun'.
No better compliment! We're off to Thirsk at Easter so will take the rest of the walks and may even buy the Yorkshire Moors book too.
All the best & thanks for producing such great books for children.

Making Tracks in the Yorkshire Dales - "Great concept...kids taking their parents on a walk."

I bought the Making Tracks Pack for the Lakes 3 years ago and we have done 9 out of the 10 and thought that it was excellent. So keen to capitilize on the kids newly found enthusiasm for the great outdoors, I was eager to get this pack, as we live in Yorkshire. We have discovered Brimham rocks now, our favourite jaunt. The kids adore climbing all the misshapen weathered rocks, and even help to pack the picnic beforehand by following the rock bun recipe in the leaflet. Last week we went to Bolton Abbey and were stunned by the beauty of the place. There was something for everyone to do, and the leaflet keeps the interest going for the kids whilst we spotted a kingfisher as suggested in the second walk. Our 8 year son guided us up the hill to a quirky cafe called Buffers coffee shop, a place we would never have found without the pack. Fantastic homemade produce and a model railway to interact with upstairs. I have recommended these two packs to handful of friends with kids and everyone has been as positive response. I highly recommend you buy this and the Making Tracks in the Lakes, you'll not be disappointed. From Alison Peel

Making Tracks in the Yorkshire Dales - "Not a duff walk yet"

We have tried several of these walks now and have all been impressed with every single one, no matter what the weather. The locations are great and the directions are quite straightforward for our 8 year old to lead. I wish there were more of these for other parts of the country. There seems to be two others as yet, for the Peak district and the Lake District. From S. Foster

Making Tracks in the Lake District - " A very cheap way of keeping kids occupied on a Sunday!"

A fun, easy to follow walking book to keep the kids interested. 10 graphically led walks through the Lakes gives the kids chance to learn and get interested in the outdoors and have a great deal of fun at the same time. Well recommended for anyone who has children that cannot be removed from the telly at the weekend, age range 4-11. From Christine Hammond

Making Tracks in the Lake District - "It could change your life"

Bought this pack of kids walks a year ago and we all love it. The walks are reasonably easy to do, manage to keep kids entertained and tears them away from the computer/play station. We all feel physically better after these - they are in the most beautiful areas - we particularly enjoyed the Grasmere walk, Grizedale forest, oh and yes, Tarn Hows. Have since bought the packs for the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales - you must try the Bolton Abbey walk - I challenge you not to be overawed. From Sue, Lancs.

Making Tracks in the North York Moors

The North York Moors has lots to offer young and enquiring minds including fossils, tributes to daring seafarers and lots of fascinating plants and animals. With lots of pointers on things to look out for, Making Tracks in the North York Moors Pack makes walking much more fun than just getting from A to B and allows children to learn more about the countryside in a fun and imaginative way. It would be a useful tool for schools as part of their health agenda. From Sue Schulze:  The North York Moors National Park Authority's Education Manager

Making Tracks in the North York Moors
We love this - haven't done all of the walks yet but the ones we have done are all interesting and have included rivers and woodland so children had a whale of a time paddling. Directions are easy to follow and I especially like the little bits of info and quizzes to keep us entertained. Would definitely recommend. From J Petterson
Making Tracks in the North York Moors
Our lads and I have completed all the walks twice over (and one or two individual walks more than that) so we were delighted to find a new edition for York Moors. Even though they are a little old for the maps now (15 & 18!!) I bought this pack for Christmas and we're planning to drive up in the summer to complete all of the walks in the pack. The maps are invitingly drawn and encourage children to be interested in the walk and the surroundings. I can't recommend them highly enough. From Marc S via Amazon

Making Tracks in the North York Moors

Making Tracks in the North York Moors is designed especially for children aged 5-12 to pick up and take the lead, with 12 short routes around the North York Moors. Each is on a handy self-contained leaflet that's simply and beautifully illustrated, with easy step-by-step instructions and colourful maps to follow. The ingenious author has even produced a child-friendly version of the Countryside Code and local bus route map. Hugely impressive. From Dominic Bates (Featured in the Summer issue of “Walk”, the Ramblers Association magazine.)

The North York Moors Pack - "Excellent individual walk pack"

20 walks from easy to difficult. Each walk is printed on an A5 laminate, map on one side (ordnance survey) with route marked in red and instructions on other. Just take the walk you need and a picnic. Comes with waterproof pack to put the walk in. Also has places of interest, info on nearest toilets etc. Always takes you off the beaten track, directions are excellent and never got lost. Can't find any faults with them! Also got the lakes pack and peak district. From E.C Hirst

The Making Tracks range...
Just wanted to say that I think the Making Tracks series for children is brilliant! Our daughters are now aged 11, 9 and 5 and we have been using them for a number of years. Glad to hear the series is being extended. We like the fact they can lead the walks and have something to anticipate along the way all the time. Congratulations on an excellent series. Wales would be good for us! From Kirsty Allan
