Principal feature is that all walks are less than five miles in length (though averaging 4 miles each, they are all very definitely worthwhile outings), making them ideal for families, leisure walkers, and others constrained by either time or other limitations.

 

Concise route descriptions are complemented by background information. This title deals with the area around the hugely characterful little town of Hebden Bridge in the absorbing countryside of the upper Calder Valley in the South Pennines.

 

Twenty super walks use starting points such as Heptonstall, Luddenden and Todmorden, and of course Hebden Bridge itself. Places visited include Hardcastle Crags, Stoodley Pike, Blake Dean and Cragg Vale.
