All
of the routes start at a parking area so that you are immediately
walking in the hills - but without walking up them.
The author has made a
particular point of exploring less well-known but undoubtedly attractive
fringe areas so the scenery is surprisingly varied. While these walks
are not long strenuous slogs, Norman is keen that walkers should take
time to fully appreciate their surroundings. In keeping with this
relaxing philosophy, picnic spots, refreshment stops and places of
interest are highlighted along the way.
Each
walk includes detailed instructions, clear maps and photographs to
inspire.
Concise introductory notes allow instant assessment of a walk's
suitability - gradients, distance and conditions at a glance.
